Commanding Officer Update – January 1, 2021

Cadets, Parents, and staff of 151 Chadburn Squadron

On behalf of the Officers of 151, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year. We would all agree that 2020 was a very difficult year, with many challenges.

2021 is shaping up to be another very busy year for the Squadron. As a result of the current COVID restrictions, all training for the foreseeable future will continue to be virtual.

To the cadets:

You should have received, or will soon be receiving a phone call from your team commanders reminding you of the upcoming mandatory training on Monday, January 4th. I ask for your continued dedication and patience regarding our virtual training. I also ask that you continue to strive for and meet Chadburn’s high standard of deportment. Please make sure your hair is cut, your uniform is pressed and your boots are polished to glass. Continue to push yourself to be the best you can be and never settle for just “good enough”.

Our recruits will be sworn into the Squadron on Monday, January 4th  following the opening parade. Parents are welcome to observe their son/daughter being sworn in. A more formal ceremony will take place when we are able to conduct in-person activities.

The next parent/cadet information night for the second recruit course will be held on Tuesday, January 12 at 7 pm. If you know anyone who is interested in joining Chadburn Squadron, please have them contact Capt McAteer at chadburn.recruiting@gmail.com

The Squadron aviation exam will be held on Thursday, January 7th for those cadets who have been attending ground school classes.

Our fundraising campaign is proving to be very successful. Thank you to those who have donated to the Squadron. Money donated supports the many cadet activities Chadburn Squadron provides throughout the year. For anyone who wishes to donate at any time throughout the year, please click on the “Donate” button at the top of the Squadron’s website homepage.

Once again, I wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year, and I look forward to seeing you in the months ahead.

Major Ron Brosseau

Commanding Officer

151 Chadburn Sqn.
