Glider Scholarships

Major Bliss was pleased to announce that two of our cadets have been awarded Glider Scholarships.

This summer these cadets will be attending the Canadian Forces glider training school at CFB Mountainview.

In addition to these awards it was confirmed that two of our cadets were also on standby should another squadron

not be able to have their cadets attend the course.

Squadron Photos

Our regular squadron training parade this past Monday was devoted to squadron photos not only of the whole squadron

but all of the various teams and groups that make up the squadron. The photo below is the entire squadron while

the other photos are the squadron band and the squadron’s competitive sports team.

Cadets and parents should know that cadets can order & purchase large high definition copies of these photos in the weeks ahead.

Our 75th Anniversary Photo

This weekend marked the 100th anniversary of the battle for Vimy Ridge in France. Historians say that this battle

marked the day when Canada became a nation. It is a thought provoking time and emotional experience for

those of us who have been there and taken the long walk up to this magnificent memorial.

To those who may not know our squadron while not personally attending this monument has had a wreath

placed there on our behalf by 1955 Squadron of the Air Training Corps in England.
