Make a difference to our cadets this holiday season.

Dear Friends & Supporters of 151 Chadburn Squadron:

The holiday season is quickly approaching and it always seems to provide an opportunity to reflect on the successes and accomplishments of the past year. I appreciate your continued patience and support throughout 2021 as we embarked on our second training year under COVID-19 restrictions.
Thankfully, we were able to conduct some limited in-person activities. We were able to do this partly because we have our own facility; the good old Rotary Hall. We were able to run recruit training and versions of other activities such as; fitness testing, the Ganaraska forest field training exercise, boot shining, and marksmanship practice in-person. And while our ability to conduct in-person training is at the mercy of COVID-19 infection and vaccination rates in Durham Region, we remain optimistic that we’ll be able to deliver the same high-calibre training – both virtual and in-person – that you’ve come to expect from Chadburn Squadron.

Thank you for your dedication and generosity that has helped provide our cadets with the opportunities and training they received this past year. We couldn’t have done it without your support.
Sincerely,

Major Ron Brosseau
Commanding Officer

We need your help – please donate today.

The Squadron’s fundraising initiatives have once again been cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year, we rely even more on the generosity of our donors, local residents, and businesses to help fund the programs our cadets rely on. When you make a donation, you’re directly supporting our cadets and helping create leaders for tomorrow. Visit www.chadburn.org/donateto learn more and make a difference to our cadets today. Don’t forget, we are a registered charity! Donate now to receive your 2021 tax receipt.

Squadron Activities

The 2021 training year has been very busy with many in-person and virtual activities taking place each week. The new year will be just as exciting, with plans to carry out mandatory testing for level training, online ground school exams, and interview boards for those cadets wishing to participate in senior summer camp courses.

Virtual Training

Band – Music Theory
Although our band has not been able to parade again this year, we have been able to hand out some instruments to keep the Squadron’s music program alive through virtual training. Cadets who chose to participate are working towards their Cadet Music Levels.
Monday Nights

Our mandatory Monday night training continues virtually.
In-Person Activities

Field Training at the Ganaraska Forest
Treetop Trekking at the Ganaraska Forest
Boot Shining
Marksmanship Training
Recruit Training
Online Ground School

The online ground school is a new national program that some of our senior cadets have enrolled in to prepare for Power and Glider pilot courses in Summer 2022.

Please stay tuned for further information on the activities mentioned above.
*Until the COVID-19 situation in Durham Region greatly improves, we’ll continue delivering our training virtually as required, striving to incorporate new, innovative and engaging methods as we go.
